Several days last, and, I am directed to inform you that the post office of Hong Kong is about to be handed over to the Colonial Government, as already communicated to you in my letter of the 26th last, the alteration which you propose in the building was left to be decided upon by the Governor, after the transfer has taken place.

I am further to state that His Lordship is not prepared, at present, to authorize the arrangement which you suggest for sorting the mail by the Acting Postmaster at Hong Kong.
